Vodafone Monday, February 26th: Work began at around 9:15/9:30. Amanda Cahill, the woman who I was working for for the week showed me and the other TY students around the building and told us how everything works inside. After we got settled in, the youth manager Sarah assigned us a project on their mobile phone deals for teenagers. We had to decide what us teenagers would like in a phone plan and why and then compare our wishes to the plans they offer students. Sarah was very impressed by our research and was going to incorporate our information into the phone plans. After lunch, we were introduced to 4 new products they are planning to release in autumn of this year. We had to research these products and see if there was any similar ones that already existed.
Tuesday, February 27th: We had to be in the Aviva Stadium for 10am. We were working at the private training session for the Irish rugby team. When we got there we were all assigned jobs like showing the guests around and making sure they had everything they needed for the session and lunch. After the session, some of the players came into the Vodafone section for autographs and pictures. I was helping Gary Ringrose take photos with all of the children and sign their T-shirt’s and balls. This was a great experience to be apart of and I loved it. After we had finished in the Aviva, we went back to the Vodafone headquarters in Central Park and helped set up for the Irish rugby team visit. The players came to Vodafone to sign autographs and take photos with the people who work in Vodafone. Luckily we were allowed get photos and autographs with the players too!! I thoroughly enjoyed this day, it was such a good day with the team and I was so fortunate to be apart of it. It was the first time the whole team had come into their main sponsors office so to be on work experience this week was so lucky.
