On October, my class travelled to Kairos communications in Maynooth. We had to make a 10 minute programme with all of our classmates controlling the cameras, sound and lights. I was apart of the on screen team. We had to pick a programme and make it our own. We had to write our scripts and pick the different roles from the programme.
We chose Families Not So Fortunate as our programme. I was part of family 2. We got asked questions and had to give the answers. Callum, Conor and I were the rich family against Amy, Steven and Collin. We had to organise 3 camera people, 2 sound people, a floor manager and 2 directors. This required a lot of organisation within a short time frame.
We had many rehearsals before we filmed the real thing. This was a lot of fun to film and participate in. It made us realise how much effort, time and organisation that goes into TV and movies. The class learnt that you had too cooperate with the floor manager and directors to make the programme run smoothly.
I really enjoyed my experience in Kairos and would definitely recommend taking part in it to younger years.
